How to authenticate a signature or autograph, step by step
The whole process, from the first photo to the certificate. No surprises: you know the price before you send anything.

01Send me photos of the item
Through the form, by WhatsApp on +34 610 71 02 03 or by email. The preliminary assessment costs €25, which is deducted from the certificate if you decide to go ahead.
Which photos to send:
- The whole item, front and back.
- A sharp close-up of the signature.
- Any stamps, marks, labels or inscriptions.
- In natural light, without flash or filters, with the full edge of the paper visible.
02Receive a fixed quote
I tell you as soon as possible whether the item can be certified, which option I recommend (physical + digital or digital only), and the price and turnaround in writing.
03Send the item (physical certificate only)
Once the quote is accepted and paid, I send you the shipping address privately, with packing advice; I recommend insured, tracked shipping. For the digital-only certificate you don't need to send anything else: I work from your photographs, which must then be high resolution.
04Expert examination
I examine the signature under magnification and technical lighting, assess the paper and ink, and compare it with authentic reference signatures from the same period. I look for the features an imitation fails to reproduce: speed, pressure, connections and proportions.
05Receive your VS Certificate
If the signature passes the examination, I issue the certificate with a unique number, a photograph of the item and my signature, in English or Spanish. The number is entered in the verification register. With the physical certificate, the item is returned to you together with the certificate.
If it does not pass, no certificate is issued and I explain the reason in writing.
Turnaround depends on the item, because I only certify when the examination allows a sound conclusion. The expected turnaround is stated in your quote.

Did it come without reliable documentation, or with a certificate you cannot check?

It will help you sell with confidence and protect the value of the item.
